Executive Mid Back Chair

Today I had a new experience. A simple task, I thought, to look into purchasing a new office chair. What I was after was an executive mid back chair, ergonomic of course, to save my aging back. Instead of simple and easy, I found that I had entered a realm of diversified office products that boggle the mind.

There are executive mid back chairs, mid back executive chairs, soft mid back chairs, mid back swivel, posturpedic mid back executive chairs, Lifeform mid back executive chairs, and the list goes on. Did I need one that swivels? One that rolls? Leather? Cloth? Wood? Steel? The questions seemed endless. Should my executive mid back chair have adjustable height? How about adjustable width of the seat? I could even get one with memory foam that remembers what my tush looks like. There are also mesh models in red and green and blue and varied other colors.

Oh please give me a break! All I want is a new mid back executive chair for my office. Once I got over all the features available on an office chair, the next hurdle was pricing. There are mid back executive chairs ranging in price from about $150.00 plus shipping all the way up to six or seven hundred dollars. I stopped looking after I reached those numbers, however, I'm sure I could have gone higher had I wanted.

So, here's some unsolicited advice that can perhaps save someone some time and frustration. Before starting to search for an executive mid back chair, first have in mind what features you really need. It's sort of like buying a car. Do you want a six or a V-8, leather or cloth seats, a heated steering wheel? It's like that with a new chair. Mine had to be comfortable, at least a little padding. It must swivel and roll and tilt, I rock when I work. My personal preference is leather, I find it does not wrinkle the trousers as much as cloth. Once I had my own priorities in order, I found the task of selecting the "just right" executive mid back chair was much easier for me.

The bottom line is this, your executive mid back chair is out there waiting for you. Just know what you want and don't settle for anything less. Oh, and yes, there are heated steering wheels.
