Kitchen Counter Bar Stools
You have many kitchen counter bar stool choices, especially if you shop online. It can be difficult to decide which style is best for your needs. But, if you follow a few simple steps, you can quickly determine a range of stool heights, colors, and materials that are best suited for your kitchen counters.
The most obvious decision is matching (or at least complementing) your existing kitchen décor. You might want to go so far as taking some pictures with a digital camera and uploading them to your computer. Get plenty of shots from different angles and in different light. Keep them on your desktop and when you shop online, you can match the bar stools you find with the pictures of your kitchen.
In terms of bar stool colors, it's very easy to find matches for your kitchen décor. There are so many choices out there, it would be virtually impossible to think of a color scheme that isn't covered somewhere. Having said that, if you just can't seem to find that perfect match, try as you might, consider neutral colors or natural wood. Tan shades usually work with most any other color, so they're a good fallback.
Then comes the toughest part of picking kitchen counter stools for most folks - the materials used. Kitchens usually have shiny metal sink fixtures, sinks, appliances, toasters, hanging pots and pans, etc. So, for some decors, chrome stools with seats that are black or some other neutral color work well.
Kitchen cabinets are another feature that you may want to match. If they're wood, look for counter stools that have the same wood and are as close to the same color as possible. If the stools will be used with both counters and a kitchen table, it's a good idea to find stools that will complement both. Just be sure the stool height is appropriate for both uses.
